The pandemic has hit
tourism hard. The sector has resumed work in unison with the lifting of
restrictions, although the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI)
believes that the tourism recovery is still a distant prospect.
"The sharpest decline in the number of visitors and tourism revenues was recorded in the second quarter of 2020 -96% and -97% respectively. The number of tourists in the first quarter of 2021 decreased by 90%," the IDFI review says.
