Photos have been posted
on the social network depicting Natakhtari lemonade sold in Italy with the
label in Russian. The author of the post and photo Giorgi Khukhia saw the
product in Rome's supermarkets. "Commersant" tried to find out how
the Georgian lemonade with the Russian label appeared in the European retail chain. As turned out, Natakhtari
company (JSC Lomisi) had no information about this fact. Nikoloz
Khundzakishvili, corporate affairs director at the company, says that the
company didn’t allow Russian dealers to export lemonade labeled in Russian.
“We export our products to the EU country in full compliance with labeling standards, using English. There is no Russian dealer who covers Italy, in this case we are dealing with parallel export as we have other dealers in Italy,"- Khundzakishvili notes.
When asked what would be the company’s response to the above-mentioned fact, Nikoloz Khundzakishvili says:
"We are evaluating the extent of a possible threat, if it is a single case, it does not create a problem. Preventing such isolated cases is usually difficult, ”Nikoloz Khundzakishvili points out.
