Russia carries out harmful activities in Georgia, including disinformation, and this has an impact on the country, Robin Dunnigan, the candidate nominated by Joe Biden for the position of US ambassador to Georgia, said at the session held in the Senate.

According to her, she was following the protest caused by the foreign influence law in Georgia.

"I think they reflected the desire of the Georgian people to be firmly integrated with the West and the European Union. We see the commitment of the Georgian people to this path again and again, and I think it is in our national interest to continue supporting them on this path.

I believe that Russia is carrying out harmful activities in Georgia, including disinformation, and this has an impact on the country. That's why I think our help in implementing reforms for them is so key.

The European Union has published 12 reforms that Georgia must implement in order to receive the status of a candidate for the European Union. If I am approved as ambassador, I will work closely with the [Georgian] government to help implement these reforms," Dunnigan said.
