The share of card payments has been increasing significantly. In January 2023, a total of more than 61.2 million operations were performed with Georgian card instruments in Georgia and abroad, totaling to more than GEL 4.9 billion, in the last one year (from February 2022 to January 2023) up to 690.4 million operations were performed with a total amount of GEL 60.4 billion.

The volume of transactions carried out with Georgian cards outside the country this January amounted to GEL 590,151, in one year this figure stood at GEL 5.9 billion that is almost 87% ( GEL 3.15 billion) more than in 2021.

According to the National Bank, the number of payment credit cards in circulation in Georgia reached 570,000, as for debit cards, their number totaled 7.25 million units.
