"Compared to last year, one bag of flour has decreased in price by GEL 15 and stood at GEL 54-55" - Malkhaz Dolidze, the Chairman of   the Georgian  Bread  Manufacturers  Union, s aid in the air of C ommersant's Morning program. In Dolidze’s words, t his made it possible to reduce social bread price the so-called brick bread by 10 tetri from April 10-12.

"I believe that chain stores will do this, "Ori Nabiji", "Nikora" stores to which the products are supplied under the contract will keep their word, but I do not know what will be the situation in the non-branded networks.

The social bread is the most sold in Tbilisi, about 350 tons of brick bread are sold per day. In the regions people mostly consume this bread," Malkhaz Dolidze notes.

Dolidze adds that the government's position is to put the interests of the people at the forefront, but notes that the problems faced by the sector should be also taken into account. Dolidze stresses energy carriers price hikes.
