Bank of Georgia is ahead of TBC Bank by return on equity, while TBC remains the leader in terms of return on assets. In  the fourth quarter of 2022, the primary capital of the Bank of Georgia amounts to GEL 2,353,590,996.53, TBC - GEL 2,497,588,643. The total assets of the Bank of Georgia stand at GEL 26,625,502,407, the assets of TBC total GEL 27,491,902,089.


Bank of Georgia leads with return on equity (ROE) with 32.81%, TBC with  28.75%, while TBC leads  with return on assets (ROA) with 3.92%, Bank of Georgia's ROA stands at  3.79%. This means that the investor of Bank of Georgia gets GEL 32.81 profit on 100 GEL capital, TBC - GEL 28.75.


As of December 31, 2022, the ROA and ROE of the TOP 5 banks are as follows:

Bank of Georgia - ROE 32.81%, ROA 3.79%;


TBC Bank - ROE 28.75%, ROA 3.92%;

Procredit Bank - ROE 17%, ROA 3%;

Basis Bank - ROE 16.2%, ROA 2%;

Liberty Bank - ROE 18.30%, ROA 2.01%.


Apart from  net profit, income or lending, these two coefficients determine the profitability of banks and determine how much the bank earns per each lari.
