The beer sector predicts a 2-3% growth this year, Nikoloz Khundzakishvili, of Corporate Affairs Director of "EFES Georgia" ("Natakhtari") told Commersant.

According to Khundzakishvili, a 5% growth is not expected this year, although the figures will be good in 2023 as well.

"The sector will continue its dynamic development, however, we do not expect a growth similar to last year's. In 2022, the beer market volume amounted to 125 million liters that may increase to 3%.

It can be said that 2022 was a good year for the beer industry. The increase in demand was mainly caused by the post-pandemic period and the war, due to which a large number of migrants entered Georgia.

It’s worth mentioning that if during the pandemic the public preferred the economical package, now glass bottles and cans are mainly bought. Apart from that, demand for large-volume 50-liter barrels has increased due to the revival of the hospitality sector," Nikoloz Khundzakishvili notes.

He adds that in 2022 "Natakhtar i " company poured 100 million liters of drinks , including beer and lemonade, about 50 million liters of drinks were sold for export.
