“By adopting this law, we are losing the benefits we have ever received,” Iva Chkonia, President of the Georgian Distributors Association, says.
According to Chkonia, discussing such a project is a disgrace, not to mention its adoption.
“Today our legislature is wasting time on this, we are wasting our time instead of getting as close to Europe as possible. Well, let's say no one believes in the opposition perceiving it as an enemy of the country. But if 85% of the country’s population wants a European future, MEPs, the EU leadership, the US ambassador and so on - are they also enemies? If the law is adopted, we’ll lose all the benefits we have ever received. We are losing every good project funded by the EU. We are losing the European future, in my vision. If we pass this law, we will be far from Europe as much as possible. If someone is concerned about who and how is financed, everything is very well known to all. There's nothing to hide,” Iva Chkonia points out.
