The recovery is well  underway, new airlines have started operating on the market, - Tea Zakaradze, CEO  at TAV Georgia, the operator of Tbilisi and Batumi international airports, said on the air of Forbes-week. In her words, new players are operating  both in the global and local markets.

The  new airline, Tbilisi Airways, started to operate local flights  and  is set to perform passenger flights as well.  New cargo carriers were also added after the Covid-19 pandemic", says Zakaradze and points out that TAV Georgia attends various  international events  to  attract new airlines to the market.

"Recently we participated in international events  in Berlin, Amsterdam that is very important for our business and attracting airlines. In  Berlin we had a meeting with many airlines and  starting from May SunExpress will perform flights to three cities of Turkey. We also  were in talks  with the Italian airline - EasyJet, which  is set to operate flights in the direction of Georgia starting from  next summer.

We need point to point routes to Europe. It is very important that Georgian Airways is launching four  new destinations from Tbilisi. All four destinations are European that can be only hailed as  it is a bit difficult for our travellers to travel with transfers.

Non-stop  flights is a great comfort, therefore, our priority is to talk to European airlines, attract them, create favorable conditions for more direct flights from Tbilisi and Batumi to Europe. We held  interesting in Berlin, later we attended  Terminal Expo it which 1,900 airports and 190 countries participated.
